With a deep sense of empathy and collective concern, Tempa alongside Selow Runners, Satu Lokasi, Monink Factory, and Cross Limit— came together to initiate a Charity Run and fundraising movement dedicated to supporting the people of Sumatra affected by the recent disaster. This initiative was carried out in close collaboration with Gubuak Kopi Solok, a community deeply rooted in the local culture and directly connected to those impacted.

In the aftermath of the disaster, countless families found themselves facing unimaginable circumstances: homes destroyed, access to food and clean water disrupted, and basic daily needs suddenly out of reach. The lack of sufficient aid further magnified the urgency of the situation. Witnessing this, we felt compelled to act not only as individuals, but as a community that believes in the power of collective movement and shared humanity.
The idea behind the Charity Run was simple yet powerful: to channel the energy and spirit of running into something that could bring hope to others. We invited runners from all backgrounds, as well as the wider public, to join us in a gesture of solidarity running side by side while contributing to a cause far greater than ourselves. It was an invitation to turn compassion into action, and to demonstrate that every step, no matter how small, can lead to meaningful change.
On Saturday, December 6th, the initiative came to life. Close to 100 runners gathered at Satu Lokasi, united by the same intention. The atmosphere was filled with sincerity, warmth, and a shared determination to help. As we ran together through the morning, each stride became a symbol of support for the families in Sumatra who are currently facing hardship.
Through this collective effort, we successfully raised approximately 25 million rupiah. In addition to monetary contributions, participants also donated clothing, daily essentials, and several other basic needs that have since been sent to the affected communities. These contributions, no matter the form, serve as an expression of solidarity proof that distance does not diminish our ability to care and stand together.
This Charity Run became more than just a gathering of runners; it became a reminder of the strength that emerges when communities unite with purpose. It highlighted how compassion, when shared, can ripple outward and bring comfort to those who need it most. We hope that this movement encourages even more people to take part in meaningful actions, and that our support can provide a small but significant relief for our friends in Sumatra as they begin rebuilding their lives.
In the end, this initiative reaffirmed a simple truth: when we move together with empathy, intention, and kindness we can create impact far beyond what we imagine.
